We just opened up our online store! Not much on there yet, but most importantly, you can now pre-order both our digital and limited edition physical versions of our upcoming EP, scheduled to release this Summer 2011. Check it out at the link on the right sidebar, or go to http://theglowingstars.bigcartel.com.
Those who pre-order will also get access to exclusive bonus content including never-before-seen photos, videos, and more. This will not be available to those who don’t pre-order.
In other news, thanks to all who downloaded our demo on Bandcamp for $2 or more. We just recently broke $200 in sales and will be donating 100% of it to the American Red Cross to support Japan this week! Awesome!
We have a new song available for download as part of a chip music compilation put together by True Chip Till Death and Pixelh8. This compilation was created in efforts to raise money for Japan after the tsunami. It currently features 90 tracks with more on the way.
We’re really excited to be a part of this compilation with our friends in the chip community. The new song is called “Group Study.” This is the only way to get this song, so what are you waiting for? Go!
Our buttons finally arrived today, and just in time for our show with Anamanaguchi and Peelander-Z, which is in less than a month! Buying tickets early is cheaper (and recommended), so make sure you do so on the DNA Lounge website! We’ll have these, as well as more stickers, at our merch table at the show, as well as some other fun stuff. And if you’re on Facebook, you can RSVP here! Please spread the word, San Francisco!
Aren’t these buttons awesome? Big thanks to Mike Bombon, who designed these. Show him some love by visiting his website or following him on Twitter @VULTR3.
Also, many, many thanks to everyone who’s bought our tracks already on Bandcamp. We’ve raised some money and we’re donating 100% of it to American National Red Cross to aid Japan. You can still help out by visiting our Bandcamp page. Additionally, we’ll have a NEW song in a chiptunes compilation organized by True Chip Till Death and Pixelh8. If you donate money here, not only will you be helping out the country, but you’ll also receive an awesome collection of chip music from talented artists everywhere. For more information, visit The Chip Fund at firstgiving.com.
I know that personally, as soon as I heard about the tsunami in Japan, I was on Facebook trying to track down information on everyone over there that I know personally. So far, everyone I know of is fine, thank goodness.
But a lot of people aren’t. I’m reading crazy stories online that I’m sure you’re reading too.
We’re all searching for something to do to help – so here’s a little something you (and we) can offer back to the country that gave us all our amazing 8-bit gear (and, you know, some other stuff and cool people).
Since free downloads of our demo tracks on Bandcamp ran out a few days ago, a few people have been paying us money to download them, and today it hit us. For the forseeable future any and all money we make from our demo tracks on bandcamp will forwarded directly to the Red Cross to support their efforts in Japan. So go to http://theglowingstars.bandcamp.com, download some songs and send whatever you can to help out the land that birthed a million gameboys! Spread the word!
Here’s that embedded player again:
oh p.s. we’re of course also passing on the money we’ve already received. THAT’S RIGHT YOU GUYS, YOU WERE SUPPORTING TSUNAMI SURVIVORS BEFORE IT EVEN HAPPENED!
